In Which Luke LOVES the Cat and Elder Darnell's Recognition of Temperature is Severely Wacky

This week, some stuff happened while I was in Texas. The end.

Just kidding. I'm only joking.

So, we started off the week on Monday night at dinner with the Parkers. Sister Parker is totally adorable and tons of fun, and we love spending time with her. Her two year old, Luke, is quite the character. He has a really big build for a two year old, and it's always an adventure watching petite Sister Parker try and wrangle him in. We shared a message after dinner and were about to pray when Luke decided that he really wanted to play with the cat. So, he walks over and just face plants himself on top of the poor thing. The cat made a grumpy noise and Luke finally got off, and then commenced chasing the cat around the house. Sister Parker told us to go ahead, so we started praying. As we did so, the prayer was punctuated by random hissing, growling and screeching noises. It was just hysterical.

We got to meet with Megan and Tim twice this week. On Monday, we went walking with her and Tim in the evening. Well, Tim ran laps around us, and we walked. Megan talked about how much Tim enjoyed BYD on Sunday and how he was enjoying seminary, which he seconded. She also told us that her husband had made a comment about how much happier she's been since she started meeting with us. Oh, yes. We went to their house and talked about faith with one of the Sisters in the ward on Thursday night as well. Megan's still been reading, and Tim's been going to seminary, so we had a good conversation with them. What was really neat, though, was being able to talk to Scott. He is a very logical kind of guy and has been through a lot, and doesn't think that he's ever had any sort of faith in his life. It was really good just to talk to him. We didn't expect to get to him in any way, just to get him talking, and we were able to do that. He'll be a member some day, it just might take a while.

Ashlee's coming right along as well. She read the Book of Mormon on her own (FINALLY) and is making real strides in her self confidence. I really think that if she can feel better about herself and her situation, she'll be able to get the gospel. She's been struggling with getting her boyfriend out, but she's to the point where she's not going to change her mind. We were able to have one of the members of the ward give her a blessing on Wednesday, and it was wonderful. She was a little confused because she thought that she was supposed to feel some huge feeling, but once we explained it to her, she felt a lot better about it. There were quite a few things that were said that the Brother couldn't have known about, but were exactly what she needed, and when we explained that to her, she really latched onto it. She's getting there, we just need to be a little more patient.

Megan and Ashlee didn't end up coming to church on Sunday, which was a total bummer. Megan had told us she was coming, but didn't, and neither did Ashlee. Kezza came, but she was a little distant. We haven't been able to meet with her in a while, and we're a bit worried about her. We have an appointment scheduled on Wednesday, so we'll see how that goes.

On Saturday, we were able to get Elders Gonzalez, Cloward and Darnell out to Carmen and Marcie's to help her move some furniture. It was about 50 degrees and it was pretty sunny, so it was pretty nice outside. Elder Darnell, however, it from California, and has decided that Texas is too cold. He spends all day in his sweatshirt and spent most of the morning searching for the warmest spot in which to stand. I think he's nuts.

Later that afternoon, we were able to go to the baptism of one of the Imperial Oaks Sisters' investigators. It was a really nice service, and it was so wonderful to see this woman who they'd been working with for quite a while make that commitment, and be so excited to do it. I just love that.

I think that's it... Not that much happened. I love y'all, though. Thanks for being excellent, and keep up the good work.

Love,

Me.

Our 750 piece puzzle...and one piece is missing. Right in the middle. It makes me want to rip my hair out, just a little.

Elder Darnell's warm spot

The Elders in our car. They're... yeah.

We were matching, so we tried to take a picture. It didn't work so well.

This time it did, though.
